Who is Buzzy Lao?
Guitarist and songwriter, La Stampa has defined Buzzy Lao as "a latest generation bluesman." His roots are the rhythm of Blues and Reggae, combined with the intimate sound and depth of Italian songwriters.
After long travels in Europe and England, experiencing street music, gigs and some of the most highly regarded live venues in London, in 2015 he returned to his hometown, Turin, and released his first single in Italian 'Lacrime d'amore'. From here he started an intensive set of gigs, accompanied on stage by several guitars, including the Weissenborn style lap steel and a band formed by drums and bass.
What is 'HULA'?
The long-awaited debut album, HULA, an acronym for 'Hanno Ucciso L' Amore', is the result of a year of writing which distills a myriad of musical and personal life experiences, but also represents much more - arrival at the end of a long journey, a destination, a goal.
Our crowdfunding campaign will follow the travels of Buzzy Lao on the road to HULA, where each of the 13 stops of the tour represents one of the 13 songs on the album. Departure of the tour is scheduled from Turin and it will conclude in Palermo, Sicily, where, as the final destination of the journey, the album will be recorded in April 2016 with the producer Fabio Rizzo (Pan Del Diavolo, Dimartino, Alessio Bondí).
Our supporters will be able to follow the travels of Buzzy Lao through a map on his website which will contain interactive links dedicated to crowdfunders, who will have exclusive access to videos, photographs and a logbook charting the path of his adventures.
Accompanying the traveler & songwriter Buzzy Lao on the road to HULA are his brother and drummer, T Salerno, together with friend, trusted collaborator, photographer and videomaker Luca Panegatti (also author of the videoclip 'Lacrime d'Amore'). The eclectic Winki, a writer, traveller and adventurer, will be the narrator of their adventures, sharing with you the 13 stages of the journey in the logbook of Buzzy Lao. www.winki.it
How to follow the journey?
At each stage of the journey, there will be a live concert where an acoustic preview will be recorded of one song on the album.
This will be made available exclusively to our crowdfunders, along with other content, through the interactive map on the Buzzy Lao website

How do we use the funds raised?
To support the whole album production costs, recording costs, ensuring the right support for all those who participate in its creation, including a graphic designer and video maker and involving a press office for its spread once the album is ready. Everything in total independence, without any outside investors, an innovative way to grow a musical project together with its audience.
