Hangartfest, festival of the independent art scene, addresses to new generations of choreographers and performers aiming at giving them visibility and promoting the new languages of the contemporary scene. Its proposals range from shows in conventional places to urban performances, from installations to videos and from conferences to workshops. Hangartfest, now in its XII edition, is a non-profit and self-sustained festival that takes place in Pesaro in September of each year.
Hangartfest adheres to CMS Consorzio Marche Spettacolo and is held with the patronage of the Municipality of Pesaro. It cooperates with several Italian and foreign partners: AMAT, Sanafest (Son, Norway), Highs & Lows Festival (4Bid Gallery, Amsterdam NL), Festival Caressez le Potager (Marseille, France) and No Man's Island (Macerata, Italy).
Hangartfest is a co-founder of the network Ortopolis_arti in rete that manages the exhibition centre of the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena in Pesaro, where it promotes the project of artistic residencies OVERLINE.
Among the initiatives of the festival, the showcase “The Creative Being” addresses to emerging choreographers and it is promoted throughout Europe. Though at the beginning it was mainly attended by Italian artists, in recent years, thanks also to the presence of foreign partners, applicants have significantly increased: for the current edition, there have been 171 applications from 26 countries and 136 positions were filled.
Two committees of experts and a group of non-experts spectators (group Explorer) have selected the works based on videos submitted by the choreographers. A first group of 33 has passed the first selection and, among these, 5 works have been chosen to participate in the showcase to be held at the Teatro Sperimentale in Pesaro on the 26 of September this year.
The committees of experts are composed of: Susan Sentler (London), Ingvild Isaksen (Sanafest, Norway), Irina Vainio (Highs & Lows, 4Bid Gallery, Amsterdam), Marco Becherini (Caressez le Potager, Marseille), Gilberto Santini (AMAT and Festival Civitanova Danza), Bruce Michelson (dance critic), Carmelo Antonio Zapparrata (dance critic) and Antonio Cioffi (Hangartfest).
The Creative Being is a meeting point for professionals, where artists and operators interact and give birth to new hospitality projects, residences and productions, thus yielding growth and work opportunities.
These are the names of the selected artists participating at the 2015 edition of the showcase Essere Creativo that will be held in Pesaro, Italy at Teatro Sperimentale, on the 26th September 2015:
Giovanni Leonarduzzi (IT), Howool Baek (DE-KP), Jordan Deschamps (AT-FR), Simone Wierod (DE-DK), Alex Kyriakoulis and Natasa Frantzi (EL-BE).
WHAT IS OUR GOAL AND HOW WILL WE USE YOUR DONATIONS
With your help and that of Eppela, we would like to raise €2,000 which will be allocated to The Creative Being. This sum, which will add to the €3,000 already allocated by Hangartfest to the showcase, will support the accommodation for all the participants as well as part of the artists travel costs.
Should funds raised exceed our target, the surplus would be destined to face the costs of installations of the festival and, if possible, to remunerate the staff.
We are grateful to you whatever the donations, be it only for spreading the word about this campaign. And we are conscious of the fact that, whatever your contribution, you are not motivated by the reward that we will grant you but rather by generosity. For this, we thank you from the bottom of our heart!
