“Che cosa c’è sotto-What's underneath the soil” is a book by Altreconomia, a magazine and an independent publisher that, since 1999 writes about solidarity economy. A down-to-earth handbook, but not at all "superficial", to understand the soil you stand on and why Soil is the most precious gift we have.
Altreconomia (www.altreconomia.it) is a cooperative with 600 members- mostly readers of the magazine and books- and has never received public loans.
Altreconomia, through the pages of its magazine and books, has always supported organizations and active citizens alike, in the defense of soil and landscape, giving tools to orient the action of active citizenship. “Che cosa c’è sotto” will be published in april, at the price of 12,50 euros. But here on Eppela, you can buy it for just 10 euros a copy, helping us to afford the printing costs. Moreover, thanks to your support, we will also be able to distribute the book in the best way possible, in bookshops, fair trade shops and online stores.
Why "Che cosa c'è sotto" is a book you need? Because…
- it makes you understand what is the soil in a simple and accessible way - in supporting this project, you support the soil itself, as the soil supports us. - it will be published in 2015, the year that UN has decided to be the International Year of Soils - soil is the fundamental element of landscape, protected by the Art. 9 of the Constitution of the Italian Republic - it's a book that will help committees, students and citizens to restart in the defense of the territory - to support this project it means also to support an independent publisher: Bibliodiversity meeting Biodiversity! And, last but not least,"underneath"...lies the Soil: we degrade it, but Soil is a non-renewable resource!
-One or more copies of the book,
-other books by Altreconomia,
-an illustrated poster with the 9th article of the Constitution of the Italian Republic, and a writing by S. Settis,
