If you are reading this it’s because our project excites your curiosity! Let us explain to you what The Way Of Life is!
The Way of Life was born during the Global Game Jam 2014, a 2 days hackathon, in which people develop videogames prototypes based on a suggested topic; at the time the theme was: "We don't see things as they are, but we see them as we are".
Here we developed the concept of the game: to make the player relive the same life's experiences from the point of view of three characters of different ages: an adult, an old man and a child.
The experiences we want to tell about are very different, they go from a quarrel to a dream, and further to more serious topics like death and love. The main point about the game is that every experience will be told through different gameplay mechanics.
TRY IT OUT ON STEAM
After the Jam we have publish the prototype on Steam and in a real short time it was downloaded by over 500.000 people, getting over 5000 reviews, 80% positive. At the moment the game is available in the free version, where it is possible to try out the prototype of some experiences. If the project isin some way enticing you try it clicking here and you will have no more doubts!
To develop a videogame is fantastic but also expensive. To get this point we have used up all our resources, working at out best. Now, to complete the project, we need your help. More funds we will be able to raise, the more features we will be be able to put in the game. Here are our goals:
WHEN WILL THE GAME BE RELEASED?
The game is foreseen to come out by the end of 2016.
ON WICH PLATFORM WILL THE GAME BE AVAILABLE?
The game will be available for PC and Mac using the STEAM platform.
WHERE CAN I TRY OUT THE ACTUAL VERSION OF THE GAME?
GAME ART FOR DEVELOPMENT
For the first time a crowdfunding campaign for the development of a video game provides the game art derived from the same artistic vision to support its realization. The cultural/artistic side of is getting more and more important in the economic plan of a videogame.
Game Art Gallery ® is a project started in 2008 to link video games with cultural heritage and place the art of the interactive medium in the panorama of contemporary arts. The idea was born in the head and in the activities of two critics and art curators, LucaTraini and Debora Ferrari. Thanks to their publishing house, they have since begun to produce limited edition of concept art, pixel art and digital arts, bringing the videogame medium to the Venice Biennale in 2011, the LU.C.C.A Center in 2011, the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci of Milan in 2012, in Villa Bottini in Lucca in 2014, the Art Night Venice in Ca 'Foscari in 2015, publishing along the way books on gaming themes.
For The Way of Life Game Art Gallery ® creates a series of limited edition art piece, logoed, numbered and certified with artistic subjects created by the developers, at a price that allows the accessibility of contemporary art to the supporter who wants to finance it . The supporter becomes collector.
Therefore, because the Neoludica, the new art of the XXI century, is a common voice for many young artists and developers, Game Art Gallery ® has created a slogan in all languages: the art comes into play!
This is an example of the pictures of 100€ and 250€ rewards!
