What is it about?
Moi c’est moi is a TV series, consisting of about 10/15 episodes. The tones are those of a comedy that wants to entertain and at the same time raise questions. This project of mine comes from a specific drive and motivation: I would like to send a positive and courageous message to all those young talents, qualified and competent, who cannot find the way to create their opportunity. In this moment I decided to create, to “bring out the best in me, working hard in the crisis”, as Einstein said, a guide and a teacher for me. Moi c’est moi, "this is me!", Is the affirmation that we should all find the courage to shout to the world, just like the protagonists of this journey do. It is a hymn to one's talents, one's personality, beauty and life that slowly, even in historical and delicate moments like this one we are experiencing, leads us to come to terms with who we really are.
Three young women, Emi Mati and Niki, old friends with a vintage soul, belonging to the upper middle class, leave suddenly for an urgent event of one of the three. They embark on a long journey by car facing various funny and unexpected events that will contribute to the rediscovery of each of them. What they don't know is that, despite their deep friendship, each of them has a secret that they will carry with them and that they will try in every way to safeguard. They will find themselves faced with rather bizarre and often frightening facts, which will bring out the true personality and true origins of each one, until the awareness of finally admitting “This is me!”.
Who's behind the project?
Who is behind the project
I couldn't have done it all by myself, of course. Professionals from this sector, all under 30, gathered around this project. Many of these boys and girls were my colleagues at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. The three interpreters are: I precisely, Maria Elena Matteucci, graduated in acting at the Experimental Center of Cinematography, in the role of Emi; Elisabetta Mirra, graduated in acting at the Silvio d’Amico Academy, in the role of Mati; Simona Di Bella, graduated in acting from the Jenny Tamburi Academy, in the role of Niki. The direction is entrusted to Francesco Gaudiello, a graduate of the Experimental Center of Cinematography, with assistant director Chiara Rapisarda, a graduate in cinema and entertainment at the University of Rome three. The general organization is entrusted to Jessica Farina, a graduate of the Experimental Center of Cinematography. The costumes entrusted to Maria Melchiorri, the make-up to Irene Del Brocco. Behind this project there is above all an immense trust in this project, in this history, and in our profession. There is a strong collaboration and a lot of hard work.
How funds will be used
I discovered a truly fascinating world in crowdfunding and I am fond of this concept of 'community'. I find the spirit of crowdfunding truly innovative and essential: everyone can participate in the creation of something; I thought for this reason that it was in tune with the 'mission' of my small project. Never as in this period have we seen how important the action of the individual is for the community, and even in this project everyone can make a difference. It is nice to need others to accomplish something. We would like to make the first episode of this series, the pilot episode. Thanks to this fundraiser we will be able to meet the minimum expenses to make the first episode in order to be able to present it to the production and distribution companies. Within the sum selected by us, there will be other expenses that we will have to account for and we have created a graph to make them visible more easily. In summary: equipment, promotion, set design, make-up and costume, Covid emergency costs, production costs. Added to these are the curious and stimulating rewards that we have designed for those who decide to contribute. Being a predominantly female team, we chose March 8, Women's Day, as the day.
We will shoot between Lazio and Marche. I would like to make the Marche, my region of origin, what it has given me in this period: serenity and a strong creative inspiration.
