The beginning of the story

It was 1938 when the first vineyards were planted in Martarosa and began the history of the Travaglini family as wine growers. They choose Molise, a land dedicated to the cultivation of vines and the production of wine since the thirteenth century BC, as demonstrated by the archaeological site in Campomarino with finds attributable to grapes and wine.

From the beginning, the first vineyards, planted with saplings, as well as providing for the family's livelihood thanks to the marketing of the grapes, fill the vats of the old cellar where, for generations, they have fermented dozens of musts that have colored their tables and those of friends.

A human story

The story of humble people, of a united family, of passion for simple, genuine things. The story of a dream that has occurred in our minds for generations, from grandparents wine-loving winemakers, to father Pasquale and mother Antonietta who, in addition to the vineyards, where persevering, courageous, far-sighted, always eager and never tired of attending the life cycle every year which makes the harvest an authentic miracle, they have cultivated over time the passion, the values for the land and for life, the joy for a sprout that becomes wine, for essentiality. Finally, Michele, the third generation, guided by ambition, determination and a great desire to enhance the unique territory, realizes the dream of generations and wine is no longer just for family and friends but becomes for everyone.

Michele and Pierluigi Travaglini today live on this passion for wine as a natural continuation of decades of viticulture. The total dedication to the territory, to the vineyards and the desire to build a future in the land that has seen them grow are the driving force to express viticulture in a modern key, with innovation, constant development of quality and without losing the roots and territorial traditions.

The enhancement of raw materials as donated by mother nature with the utmost attention to the environment and the territory, are today the key values of Tenute Martarosa.

The wine selected for Crowdwine: Tintilia del Molise

It is a red wine from Molise with an ancient tradition and an intense and full-bodied profile. The great merit of the winery is that it has committed itself to the enhancement of indigenous varieties, such as Tintilia, without giving in to the charm of the most famous international vines. A choice in favor of the typicality of the area, to produce wines that are the result of history and traditions.

Tenute Martarosa

Viticulture is the activity that has accompanied our life for three generations.

First my grandparents and then my parents took care of thousands of vines, providing their well-being in order to obtain ever better clusters that could translate sweat and fatigue into smiles and satisfactions.
