What is it about?
In Pakistan, those who living in poverty are substantially excluded from the national health service because they don’t have the necessary resources to access them. Unfortunately it happens very often due to lack of funding from the government to hospitals that don’t have the necessary resources to deal with certain clinical cases that are paradoxically transmitted to private facilities. The patient is required to pay for these health expenses. For the poor, this becomes quite difficult, lacking any financial support. For this reason they fall into debts that they will hardly be able to honor, resorting to illegal solutions to find a way out and bring the patient back home. In a context like this you understand well how being healthy with the necessary medical treatment in case of illness is a luxury that only the rich can afford. Getting sick today in Pakistan is something that the poor can not afford. Gulnaz Bibi and her husband live a similar situation. Together with her husband she’s making every effort humanly possible to support her family and therefore her children by providing for their education, including school. The diagnosis of breast cancer was a blow to Gulnaz and his family. Despite her precarious health conditions she continues to work to support the family. The daughter Amber who had completed secondary school and aspired to become a nurse had to give up her dream to support the family. And when Gulnaz had trouble keeping up with his son Haroon (a brilliant student in his tenth year), he turned to the Jeremiah Education Center (JEC) with tears in his eyes asking for financial support. The JEC has done everything possible to meet their needs.
When the JEC told us the story of Gulnaz Bibi we were struck by this woman's willpower in her battle against cancer. Gulnaz is therefore the example of hope and therefore a force not to be underestimated. Since this woman asks for help to be able to cure cancer through chemotherapy, we are convinced that she deserves our help. As she is determined to fight her evil, we too are determined to offer her our help. Every donation received in this regard will contribute to supporting the medical expenses that Gulnaz Bibi will have to face.
How funds will be used
The funds will be used as follows:
- € 200 for 10 chemotherapy sessions for Bibi. A total of € 2000
- € 200 for money transfer fees
This fundraising campaign is not under the "all or nothing" rule, so every donation will be important to help Bibi. All the money collected will give the opportunity to Bibi, immediately, to access to the therapies divided in singles packages of € 200. We thank Eppela for giving us this opportunity, putting us in a position to help those in great difficulty.
Now your support is essential! Thanks for your help!
