What is it about?
You and Me and the Coffin was born in 2009 when Mario and Martina decided to do some musical experimentation. After many line up changes, they recorded a live demo in La Spezia, at Shake Club, with Maurizio Dazzi and Hervé Peroncini, and put out a video recorded by Alessandro Mariani, Ilaria Sancho and Amos Kahana, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-PACwqWzM, but the drummer leaves the band after few months, and they arrange the existing songs with drum machines and electronic drumbeat.
You and Me and the Coffins started to play live in duo in various clubs, festival and italian squats, and then went to America, on a road trip with acustic instruments from Tennessee to California, performing almost everywhere.
On July 2013 they released online their first record, Nice! - free download on https://youandmeandthecoffin.bandcamp.com/ - recorded by Luca Contini at Federico De Robertis' studio, and with Sara Corso's precious help they put out a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7nP4L9GAjk. In October 2013 they went on tour in Europe supporting the Gondoliers, art-punk band from Boston, and when they got back home they kept playing as a duo and working on new songs with a different approach, a video by Fabio Gigli came out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNG65KFdRe4 and they finally met Elisa: with her deep and powerful voice, and brilliant music solutions, You and Me and the Coffins started to experiment a new sound, more electro and slightly pop, adding new instruments and machines. While working on their first record with the new line-up, they recorded 5 old songs with musician and sound engineer Iacopo Bigagli - comig out pretty soon!
